Cavaliers squirt AA1 lose to Manchester

The Cavalier defense consisting of Evan Doughty and Emma Dunn played well in front of goalie Kyle McGrath in a 4-2 loss to Manchester. Chase Devins scored twice, assisted both times by Jesse Gertz.

The Cavs won their third straight, topping Acton Boxboro 6-2. Noah Soule played well in goal. Forwards Aiden Kelly, Trevor Nogler, and Alex Gertz played well, as did the line of Andrew Byrne, Dan Byrne and Jake Morowski. Dan Byrne scored the games first goal, while Kelly scored the second goal and Morowski scored two quick goals for the Cavs to make it 4-0.

Gertz picked up the fifth goal off a rebound on a shot from Brendon Doughty. Doughty also added a goal of his own.

Cavaliers squirt AA2

The Cavaliers routed the Northern Cyclones of Hudson, 10-2 as the first period scoring was led off by goals from Jonathan Childs (assisted by Will Dodge) and Dodge (assisted by Aidan Rowe). Dodge ended with a hat trick, his second goal assisted by Ryan Kelley and coming in a five goal second. Other goal scorers in the period included Ryan Bizier (unassisted), Childs (assisted by Matthew MacBean), and Rowe unassisted. Bryson Giersch assisted on Dodge’s third goal and goalie Jack Conmy played well. Breenan Chane and Colby Shiffer (assisted by Jackson Bomba) scored for the Cyclones.

Junior high league starting

The Northeast Junior High Football League (NJHFL) is currently accepting new members for the 2015 season. The NJHFL offers three distinct levels of football and cheerleading for those athletes in grades two through eight.

The league also holds its own cheer competition that is open both to league members and nonmembers. The NJHFL has 13 organizations, representing 29 teams from southern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts.
