BOYS BASKETBALL

Feb. 27: Souhegan 56,
HB 44

Souhegan got the ball rolling early, scoring 23 first quarter points and never surrendering the lead from there to improve to 5-10.

Brock Lefebvre had a game-high 18 points for the Sabers, while Will Peterson led Hollis Brookline with a team high 12.

March 3: Windham 47,
HB 32

Windham’s defense did a solid job in limiting the Hollis Brookline offense, as the Cavs only had double digit points in the fourth quarter. Matt Fothergill had a team high 16 points for Hollis Brookline in this loss. Hollis Brookline will play their final game of the regular season on Thursday at John Stark.

BOWLING

Feb. 28: Locals solid at Individual Meet in
Manchester

Merrimack’s Zack Amodio had a big day, advancing to the round of eight in the Championship Flight bracket. Teammate Jacob Weaver joined him in the Round of 16 at the NHIAA Bowling Individual Championship in Manchester.

Souhegan’s David Wieczerzak placed 23rd while Hollis Brookline’s Mark Thibeault finished 26th overall.

HOCKEY

Feb. 28: Alvirne/Pelham 2, HB/Derryfield 1

Alvirne/Pelham finished the regular season with a victory, topping Hollis Brookline/Derryfield.

Bryce Blanchard and Doug Herling both scored for the Broncos, with assists from Bobby Haverty and Brett Pitre. Curtis Richall had a solid outing in net for Alvirne, stopping 11 shots.

Connor Glosner had the lone goal for the Cavaliers, an unassisted score. Goalie Zach Goyette was brilliant during the loss, stopping 43 Alvirne shots.

Alvirne and Hollis Brookline finish the season with identical 5-13 records.
