April 13: HB 20, Keene 7

Mike Buxbaum had four goals and three assists while Ryan Olson added three goals and two assists as the Cavaliers poured it on in their season opener. Will Crosby (two goals, two assists), Peter Bertone (two goals), Ryan Carr (goal, two assists) and Derek Davidson and Cam Tulley (a goal each) all got into the scoring act. Trevor Cooke had six saves in the Cavalier net.


April 14: HB 16, John Stark 0

Ashley Skey pitched a no-hitter in leading the Cavaliers to their first win over the season over the Generals.

Skey struck out nine and allowed one runner and also had a double at the plate. Avery Webb and Steph Buchanan (two hits) also had a double each while Olivia Lukovits and Celeste Marsan had two hits apiece.


April 14: HB 3, Pinkerton 1

The Cavaliers rallied from an early loss to beat the Astros. Game scores were 13-25, 25-22, 25-16 and 25-15.

Aaron Campbell led the way for HB (1-0) with 18 kills and six blocks while Nick Wood had seven kills and Bobby Ripley added four aces.


April 13: HB 6, Trinity 3

The Cavs got singles wins by Alexander Cate (8-3), Will Kingsley (8-0), Tyler Pepin (8-2 and Matt Spooner (8-0) from Nos. 3 through 6. The Nos. 2 and 3 doubles teams also won, with Kingsley/Pepin and Spponer/Stam taking 8-2 and 8-1 matches, respectively.


April 14: HB 8, Milford 1

The Cavaliers won five of six singles matches on the way to a victory over the Spartans.

Nicole Hall took the No. 1 match, while Teresa Randlett won at No. 2 and Lizzy Davis took the No. 3 match. Courtney Koran (No. 4) and Maddy McCann (No. 6) also won their singles matches.

Hall and Koran teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles match while Randlett and Davis won at No. 2 and McCann and Sophia Bruzik won the No. 3 match.

Milford’s lone win came from Aimee Krafft at No. 5 singles.
