HB gets big win over Milford


Sept. 4: HB 4, Conval 0

The Cavaliers used a 21-minute, three-goal span to establish some breathing room as they cruised to a shutout victory over ConVal.

Torrey Cook got the Cavs (3-0) on the board early, sneaking a Sydney Brackett free kick past the opposing goalie. Kenzie Day scored again nearly 40 minutes later on a 25-yard free kick, and Madeline McCann scored shortly thereafter. Magnolia Moskun’s goal in the 78th minute secured the victory for Hollis Brookline.

Olivia Cleghorn stopped four shots for Hollis in the victory.

Sept. 8: HB 5, Milford 1

Sydney Brackett scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Cavaliers improved to 4-0 in Division II.

Torrey Cook also had a goal and an assist for HB while Rachel Flanagan and Ellie Caswell also scored. Hannah Modelski added an assist, as did Taylor Cook, while Olivia Cleghorn stopped 12 shots.

Erin Mcguire had the lone goal for Milford (1-3) late in the first half to make it a 4-1 game. Freshman keeper Katie Lorden made 12 saves.


Sept. 4: HB 2, Milford 0

Jonathan Brackett and Joe Brown scored one minute apart midway through the first half to help the Cavaliers to their first win of the season.

Dale Jacobs and Sam Hall chipped in with assists, while Nick Wood earned his first career shutout in a very tough and competitive match against the Spartans.


Sept. 4: HB 3, Manchester Central 0

The Cavaliers swept Central to earn an opening day victory. Game scores were 25-12, 25-9, and 25-15.

Maddy Blake led Hollis with six aces and four kills. Taylor Hamel added seven kills while teammate Bella Zampieri chipped in three aces.

Sept. 8: HB 3, Dover 0

The Cavaliers (2-0) swept the Green Wave in their home opener by scores of 25-9, 25-18, 25-15. Kaitlyn Johnson had 11 kills while Maddy Blake added nine and Rachael Bill, eight. Bella Zampieri also had a good night with three aces and 18 digs. Hannah Balfour was a huge help with 33 assists and three aces.


Sept. 8: HB wins 19-team meet

The Cavs were first with 52 points, followed by Windham (55), Con-Val (85), Kingswood (108, and Campbell (188). Susn Pore of Windham won the race (20:15). Sara Cramton of HB was second (29:50). Other Cav scorers were Madylin Partridge (sixth, 21:16), Kay Partidge (11th, 22:41), Megan Cramton (12th, 22:42) , Celeste Fetter (21st, 23:57), Lauren Cole (30th, 24:58) and Emma Bruseo (33rd, 25:01), and Nicole Plummer (34th, 25:02.) Campbell was led by Caitlyn Callinan (16th, 23:19). Jaime Minervini (19th, 23:35), and Samantha Molinari (39th, 25:36.).


Sept. 8: HB seventh

Mascenic Regional (117)won the 19-team meet while the Cavs totaled 180, led by Cam Jackson (11th, 17:26), Joel DeLong (26th, 18:456), Patrick Bloniasz (37th, 19:30,), Evan Simonds (52nd, 20:09), and Kenny Corsetti (55th, 20:21).

Campbell was led by Jeff Allen (10th, 17:25), Luke Hogan (47th, 19:53), and Peyton Musco (51st, 20:02.


Sept. 8: HB 1, Oyster River 0

Kelly Snyder’s first half goal (assisted by Shae Berry) held up as the Cavs recorded their first win of the season (1-2). HB’s goaltenders Cassie Reijgers and Emily Dvareckas each played a solid half, combining for the shutout.
