Cavs fall at ConVal

PETERBOROUGH – Brandon Carland was a busy Cougar on Oct. 16.

Midway through the third quarter, the ConVal standout had two touchdowns, an interception and seven tackles to his credit. He’d add another pick in the fourth quarter on the way to a 25-14 win over Hollis Brookline.

A late touchdown from Isaac Bacon sealed the win for the Cougars, who improved to 2-4, while the Cavaliers, who visit Monadnock Regional at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23, fell to 2-5.

When: 7 p.m., Friday.

Where: Swanzey.

Last year: Hollis Brookline 23, Monadnock 14.

FYI: With a bye in the final week of the regular season, the Cavaliers (2-5) wrap up the year on the road against the Huskies (4-3). While HB is out of the playoff picture, Monadnock

needs a win to remain in first place in the West Conference. The Huskies are tied with John Stark (4-3), but hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.
