Cavaliers boys stumble vs. Milford

Milford erased a nine-point halftime deficit to beat Hollis Brookline 54-44.

The Spartans outscored the Cavaliers 33-14 in the second half, led by Ryan Baniskevich, who scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the second half.

Nick Fothergill scored 21 for HB while Luther Pyett added 11.


HB shines at Crotched Mountain

Hollis Brookline had success on both the boys and girls side at Crotched Mountain, winning the boys meet while the girls took second.

The boys finished with 378 points, beating out Bishop Guertin (377 points) and Souhegan (358) to round out the top three. The girls’ 383 points placed them behind Souhegan’s 387 mark and ahead of ConVal (348) and BG (311).

HB’s Paul Menard won the slalom with a combined time of 1:17.55, while teammates Trevor Cooke (1:21.71) and Luke Martin (1:23.49) finished third and fifth, respectively. BG’s Finn Rice finished fourth with a time of 1:22.38.

Steph Menard gave HB a first-place finish on the girls side as well, winning the slalom with a combined time of 1:24.18. Souhegan’s Rhiannon Allison took second with a 1:29.09 time, while HB’s Ellie Caswell took third at 1:31.59.

Souhegan’s Alana Barretto (1:32.06), Katherine Bermingham (1:36.65) and Olivia Bennett (1:37.93) filled the next three spots.
