Hollis Brookline 59, John Stark 31

Kyle Szewczyk scored a game-high 19 points as Hollis Brookline wrapped up the regular season with a 59-31 win over John Stark on Senior Night in Hollis.

Szewczyk and fellow seniors Matt Bonnette (five points), Cam Chrystal (five points) and Luther Payette (great defense) played the majority of minutes in the win.

The Cavaliers, who closed out the regular season at 11-7 for the sixth seed, hosted a preliminary matchup in the Division II tournament on Wednesday against No. 11 John Stark. Results were not available by Hollis Brookline Journal press time.

Regan named
All-Academic Team

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Liberty League commissioner Tracy King has announced that 236 winter sport student-athletes have qualified for the league’s 2015-16 All-Academic Teams in their respective sports. A total of 28 RIT student-athletes earned All-Academic honors for the winter season, including Hollis native Thomas Regan of the men’s swimming and diving.

The winter championship sports include men’s and women’s basketball, men’s squash, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.

"The Liberty League takes great pride in the academic achievements of our student-athletes," said King. "The outstanding students who have qualified for the league’s All-Academic Teams continue to demonstrate that it is possible to not only compete at the highest levels of Division III, but to also excel in the classroom."

Shooter’s Gold basketball camps will be held in six different towns around the state. Forms are printable from the site along with information, tuition and other important facts about the camps. July 5-8 at Littleton High School, July 10-13 at Rivendell High School, July 11-15 at Interlakes Elementary School in Meredith and Gilford Middle School. Laconia and Hooksett will be Shooter’s Gold sites for boys and girls in grades 1-8 during the week of July 14-18.
