BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Hollis Brookline 3, Keene 1

The Cavs overcame a third-set loss to prevail 25-20, 25-10, 21-25, 25-8 and improve to 12-3 on the year.

Jacob McGettigan (three kills, three blocks), Mike Moscatelli (two kills, one block), Matt Bonnette (two kills) and Nathan Cole (one ace) keyed the victory.

Donations taken during Monday’s game benefited the Kendall Van Schoick Memorial Scholarship. Van Schoick is a HB alum who passed away in an auto accident in August of 2013.

Hollis Brookline 3, Windham 1

Hollis Brookline pulled out a tight win over Windham – 27-25, 26-28, 25-21, 26-24 – on Thursday, May 19. Tucker McIllwrath led the way for HB with 18 kills and six blocks. Other contributors were Brett Belden (15 kills), Jonathan Brackett (12 digs, three blocks) and Vivek Nithipalan (three aces).

Hollis Brookline 3, Timberlane 1

Tucker McIllwrath (14 kills, four blocks), Brett Belden (nine kills), Scott VanCoughnett (33 assists) and Nathan Thomas (17 digs) all came up big for the Cavaliers in a 25-18, 25-21, 18-25, 25-13 victory over the previously undefeated Owls on Wednesday, May 18.

SOFTBALL

Souhegan 5, Hollis Brookline 3

The Sabers snapped a 3-3 tie with two runs in the top of the seventh with RBIs by Maddie Robicheau and Maddie Maurais, lifting their record to 12-3 on Monday.

Sam Cushing had a three-run homer. Hailey Yabroudy went the distance, striking out seven, giving up two earned runs on eight hits and walking one.

Avery Webb had three hits and a run scored for the Cavs.

Windham 14, Hollis Brookline 0

Hollis Brookline (6-8) could only put up two hits – courtesy of Avery Webb and Natakie Paquin – against Windham pitcher Jaime Cleasby, who recorded 14 strikeouts for the win on Thursday, May 19 for the undefeated Jaguars.

GIRLS TENNIS

St. Thomas 5, Hollis Brookline 4

In the regular season finale on Wednesday, May 18, Hollis Brookline (11-3) got single wins from Maddy McCann (8-5) and Sophia Bruzik (8-3). In doubles they picked up two more wins behind Nicole Hall and McCann (8-6), and Emily Spooner and Bruzik (8-1).

CHEERLEADING CLINIC

Interested in learning about the sport of cheerleading? The Hollis Brookline Jr. Cavaliers Cheer Program is offering a FUN instructional clinic for children 6-8 years of age who are intersted in seeing what the sport of cheer is all about.
