HB volleyball sweeps Goffstown

Kaitlyn Johnson posted eight kills and two blocks to lead the Cavaliers (7-1) past Goffstown (4-4) 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Maddie Norris (seven kills), Sammie Sheppard (four aces) and Hannah Balfour (25 assists, three aces) also came up big for HB.

Bishop Guertin 3, Hollis Brookline 1

The Cards rallied after a 22-25 loss in the first game to win the next three, 25-22, 25-18, 26-24 in a rematch of last year’s Division I state championship match.

Elizabeth Atkinson and Kaleigh Whalen had 10 and seven kills, respectively, for Hollis Brookline (7-2). Kira Beldon had 25 assists and three aces, while Sammie Sheppard added 15 digs.

McKenzie Robinson scored four minutes into the game and Madison Robicheau followed that up with a goal with seven minutes left in the first half as the Sabers,who were tested, improved to 8-2.

HB (4-4) nearly had a goal late in the first half, but it was knocked away from the goal line applied some last first half pressure.

The Sabers had 19 penalty corners, keeping Cavs goalie Abby Fitzgerald (12 saves) busy.
