ALPINE SKIING

Feb. 11: Girls finish 13th

The Tomahawks took 13th at the Division I meet, finishing 14th in the Giant Slalom and 11th in the slalom. Hannah Vaccaro led Merrimack in the Giant Slalom, finishing 50th, and was also second overall for the ’Hawks in the slalom, taking 43rd. Katie Spencer was the first Merrimack skier to finish in the slalom, coming in 31st and she was also 71st in the Giant Slalom.

Feb. 12: Boys take 14th

Merrimack came in 14th in the Division I meet, placing 13th in the Giant Slalom and 14th in the slalom.

Peter Reeser led Merrimack by finishing 39th in the slalom and 45th in the Giant Slalom. John Meier was the top ’Hawks in the Giant Slalom, finishing 40th.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Feb. 17: Merrimack 65, Manchester West 47

Eric Gendron scored all of his game-high 21 points in the first half as the Tomahawks (13-2) rolled to the win over the Blue Knights (3-11). Shayne Bourque was also in double figures for Merrimack with 14 while Austin Franzen added nine.

West made 15 field goals in the game, with 10 of them coming from behind the 3-point line.

BOYS HOCKEY

Feb. 15: Bedford 5,
Merrimack 3

Merrimack managed to keep up with Bedford on the scoreboard, but couldn’t match their opponents relentless attack as the Tomahawks failed to win their fifth straight. Mark Feeney, Shane Foye, and Tyler Brewster each had goals for Merrimack. Matt Brewster had 33 saves in net for the Tomahawks, who fall to 7-6 with the loss.
