Merrimack High School Highlights


May 28: Londonderry 6, Merrimack 2

The Tomahawks got a solid outing from Caitlin Minear but couldn’t get much going offensively as they fell to Londonderry. The junior allowed three earned runs in the loss.

Brittany Camara led the offense with two hits and a run scored. Alexis Kapsambelis had two hits and an RBI while Lauren Gerhard had a hit and an RBI.

May 29: Merrimack 9, Keene 4

Jess Humphrey pitched a complete game for the Tomahawks, allowing four earned runs on six hits, striking out four, and walking four. On offense Brittany Camara, Renee LeClaire, Ashley Grassini, and Alexis Kapsambelis each had multiple hits and two runs scored.

May 31: Merrimack 5, Alvirne 3 (9 innings)

The Tomahawks and Broncos needed an extra two innings to decide the outcome of their game, with Merrimack coming out on top.

Alexis Kapsambelis led the Merrimack offense with four hits and had three RBIs. Catlin Minear also had a standout game, compiling two hits and two RBIs, including the eventual game-winner. Minear had an outstanding game in the circle, as well, pitching all nine innings. She allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Kera Kelley got the start for Alvirne and also pitched the entire game. She allowed only three earned runs. Kaycee Carbone had a standout game defensively for the Broncos.


May 28: Merrimack 8, Keene 6

Matthew Brewster led the Tomahawks with a four goal performance, while Tyler Brewster added a goal and an assist.

Pierre Watt had two goals and Jason Fortin had a goal and an assist. Avery Paulson played well on defense in front of Robbie Todd, who made 16 saves for Merrimack.


May 30: Alvirne 4, Merrimack 2

The Broncos locked up the seventh seed in the Division I playoffs after topping Merrimack. The Tomahawks clinched the 16th seed as a result of Trinity’s loss to Timberlane.

Freshman Justin Grassini took the loss for Merrimack (6-12), allowing three earned runs on three hits and five walks. The Tomahawks got their first run on a bases-loaded walk in the first. They scored later in the game on an RBI single by Mark Feeney.
