BOYS HOCKEY

Feb. 18: Merrimack 5, SCB 1

Shane Foye scored two goals and assisted on another to pace Merrimack’s offense in a 5-1 win over Somersworth/Coe-Brown at Rochester Ice Arena.

Foye assisted on Ryan Downie’s first period goal along with Aaron Tupper. Downie would return the favor in the third period, setting up Foye for the game’s final tally. Owen O’Brien and John Tiano scored one each for the Sabers (10-4), who were anchored in net by Matt Brewster’s 14-save performance.

Brewster gave way to Greg Amato in the third period, who finished things off with five saves of his own. Jeff Gerhard and Kyle Feeney also found their way onto the scoresheet with assists for the Tomahawks, who hit the ice again Saturday for Senior Night at West Side Arena in Manchester against visiting Oyster River.

Feb. 21: Merrimack 2, Oyster River 1

The Tomahawks improved to 11-4 thanks to two goals by Shane Foye and a pair of assists by Ryan Downie. Aaron Tupper also had an assist while Matt Brewster collected 20 saves in goal.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Feb. 20: Merrimack 55, Dover 48

The Tomahawk defense got off to a strong start, limiting Dover to just three points in the first quarter and 17 total in the first half. Meanwhile, the offense was led by Austin Franzen (18 points) and Dylan Richardson (12 points).

Feb. 24: Merrimack 60, Keene 52

Austin Franzen connected from downtown six times on his way to a game-high 28 points as Merrimack scored a 60-52 road win at Keene.

Dylan Richardson chipped in with 10 points, while Jake Gianelli had good game off bench with seven points and six rebounds for the Tomahawks (8-7).
