Merrimack shuts out Nashua North

Sept. 2: Merrimack 2, Nashua North 0

The Tomahawks opened the season with a shutout of the Titans in Division I action. Molly Beacher and Olivia Kapsembelis each had a goal and Megan King had an assist to lead Merrimack (1-0) to the win.

North (0-1) got a good game from goalie Zoe Fillebrown, who had 16 saves.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Sept. 4: Merrimack 3, Nashua South 0

A 42-assist, 10-ace performance by Jo Coffey led the Tomahawks to an opening day victory over the Panthers. Game scores were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-14.

Elise Jolly contributed eight kills and eight aces, while Lianna Klinger added eight digs. Katie Flynn finished with 13 kills in the victory.

Sept. 8: Merrimack 3, Salem 0

The Tomahawks enjoyed a 25-16, 25-19, 25-16. sweep, led by Jo Coffey (36 assists, three blocks, six digs, five kills), Elise Jolly (five blocks, seven digs,15 kills), Katie Flynn (14 digs, 12 kills) and Lianna Klinger (22 digs). The ‘Hawks visit Timberlane on Wednesday.

BOYS SOCCER

Sept. 3: Merrimack 4, Spaulding 2

The Tomahawks improved to 3-0 on the season with a win over the Red Raiders in Rochester. Devin Kachmar had two goals and an assist to lead Merrimack, which has seven goals in three games.

Cam Lidell added a goal and an assist while Jordan Materkowski also scored. Matt Fowler and Ethan Harrington had assists and Ryan Gonzalez had one save in goal.

Sept. 8: Merrimack 3, Winnacunnet 2 (OT)

Alex Materkowski scored a minute into the extra session, assisted by Ethan Harrington as the Tomahawks stayed unbeaten at 4-0.

Devin Kachmar (assisted by Matt Fowler) and Fowler (Harrington assist) also scored for the’Hawks. Goalie Derek Staradub had three saves.
