Merrimack blanked by Bishop Guertin

FIELD HOCKEY

Sept. 18: Merrimack 1, Exeter 0

Callie Dwyer made contact with the ball in a scrum in front of the net and knocked home for the win over Exeter.

Sydney Dubois, Jessie Londono and Torri Currie all played well in the win, as did goalie Seeda Sam-Sok, who recorded six saves for the Tomahawks.

Sept. 21: Bishop Guertin 3, Merrimack 0

Heather Camacho, Olivia Koutsos and Kate Bradford all scored for the Cardinals as they improved to 5-2.

Brea Veilleux and Elise Yabroudy had assists while Kelly Mahoney made five saves in the BG net. Seeda Sam-Sok had five saves in goal for Merrimack (3-3).

Priscilla Bibeau, Caroline Carey, Ellie Foltan and Kayla Bednarz all played well defensively for BG.

FOOTBALL

Sept. 18: Merrimack 25, Spaulding 15

Joe Eichman scored three first-half touchdowns to lead the Merrimack High School football team past Spaulding on Friday in Division I action.

Eichman scored on runs of 8, 10 and 1 yards. Spaulding led 7-6 at one point in the first half, but the Tomahawks scored 19 unanswered points. A 12-yard run by Brody Kelley in the fourth quarter put Merrimack (2-1) up 25-7. Spaulding is 0-3.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Sept. 16: Merrimack 3, Manchester Central 0

Merrimack kept its undefeated record intact, and made it look easy, beating Manchester Central 25-11, 25-4 and 25-6.

Elise Jolly (nine kills) and Erika Willis (four kills) were strong at the net, while Jo Coffey (22 assists, nine aces) was setting a tone for the Tomahawks (5-0).

Mel Lezana (16 service points) and Leanna Klinger (10 digs) also added solid nights on the court for the winners.

Sept. 18: Merrimack 3, Dover 0

Jo Coffey was all over the court once again for Merrimack, as the Tomahawks remained undefeated with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-18 win at Dover.

Coffey finished the match with 33 assists, 18 service points, seven digs, five kills and two blocks.

As a team, the Tomahawks (6-0) posted 13 blocks – including four by Elise Jolly (12 kills, 11 digs) and three each by Addie Lacey and Courtney McCarthy.

Katie Flynn (23 digs, 11 kills) and Lianna Klinger (20 digs) also had big nights for Merrimack.

Sept. 21: Merrimack 3, Keene 0

The Tomahawks (7-0) swept the Blackbirds by scores of 25-9, 25-9, 25-13.

Jo Coffey had four aces and 21 assists for Merrimack while Elyse Jolly had eight digs and eight kills. Liana Clinger chipped in with four aces and 10 digs while Addie Lacey had six kills and Katie Flynn added 14 digs.

GIRLS SOCCER

Sept. 22: Londonderry 1, Merrimack 0

Lauren Dubois, Kelly Eno, Carissa Yim and Emma Fay played well for the Tomahawks, who fell to 0-6-1.
