Tomahawks win in OT

Zak Kerr hit a big 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining in overtime to propel Merrimack past Exeter in a dramatic 79-77 overtime victory in Division I boys basketball action in Exeter.

Merrimack actually led by 10 points at the end of third quarter, but four straight Exeter 3-pointers got the Blue Hawks back in the game.

Kerr led Merrimack with 19 points, while Andrew Wojciak chipped in with 17 points and a solid defensive effort.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Merrimack 59, Exeter 40

Sabrina Johnson scored 16 points, including 10 in the third quarter, as the Tomahawks easily topped Exeter.

Amanda D’Amico also finished in double-figures, adding 11 points in the victory. Nine different players scored for Merrimack.

BOYS HOCKEY

Merrimack 2, Bowe 2

Jeff Gerhard and Ryan Downie both scored as the Tomahawks salvaged a 2-2 tie against Bowe.
