Sedlar ties for 8th at NEWGA

Merrimack’s Chelsea Sedlar, a Nashua Country Club member, and Green Meadow Golf Club member Beth Gutteridge, of Ringe, joined six other New Hampshire golfers at the 60th Annual New England Women’s Golf Association Championship, a 54-hole, stroke-play tournament held June 28-30 at the Country Club of Vermont in Waterbury.

Other Granite State golfers competing were New Hampshire Women’s Golf Association legend Dana Harrity, of North Hampton and Abenaqui Country Club in Rye; Hampstead’s Lauren Thibodeau, a Windham Country Club member; Colette Schmidt, of Grantham and Eastman Golf Links, Manchester’s Tara Watt, a Derryfield Country Club member; Laconia’s Allison Wilkins, a Hanover Country Club member; and Paige MacLeary, of Cornish and Claremont Country Club.

Sedlar tied for eighth overall with Harrity at plus- 13 229. Sedlar was second in the Junior Division behind Thibodeau, who finished plus-6 222 to win the Junior Division and earn New Hampshire’s best finish at third overall.

Gutteridge, who golfs out of the Hudson-based club, was 28th overall and tied for 11th in the Senior Division with a plus-38 254.

Watt (plus-11 227) was seventh overall, MacLeary (plus-27 243) was 17th, Schmidt (plus-30 246) was tied for 19th, and Wilkins (plus-49 265) tied for 40th.

The NHWGA also hosted a state tournament on June 26 at Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, and two more on June 28 at Oak Hill Golf Course in Meredith and Hoodkroft Country Club in Derry. Results for these events can be found at www.nhwga.org.
