Mr. & Mrs. Scott Himes
POTTERS MILLS - Marie Catherine Pierson and Scott Charles Himes, both of State College, were united in marriage July 21, 2012, at the General Potter Farm in Potters Mills by Pastor Gary Sheesley.
She is the daughter of Drs. Bruce Pierson and Shirley Ruth, both of Brookville. He is the son of Steve and Carol Himes of Sigel.
The bride chose her sister, Sarah Pierson of Columbia, Mo., as her maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Terrill of Kalamazoo, Mich., Heather Melnick of Beacon Falls, Conn., and Aline Smith of Washington, D.C.
Flower girls were Natalie and Ashley Himes, nieces of the groom, of Brookville.
Zane Grindle of York performed best man duties.
Groomsmen were Dave Galbraith of State College, Kun-Feng Wu of Washington, D.C., and Steve Himes, brother of the groom, of Brookville.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Brookville Area High School, a 2008 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with bachelor's degrees in international politics and international studies, and a 2012 graduate of Penn State with a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. She is a secondary social studies teacher at Bald Eagle Area School District.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Brookville Area Senior High School, a 2006 graduate of the Penn State with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a 2007 graduate of Penn State with a master's degree in civil engineering. He is completing a doctorate degree in civil engineering and works for the Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute at the Penns State.
Following a honeymoon trip to Asheville, N.C., the couple reside in State College.
