The Bedford PTG Color Blast Fun Run/Walk returns

The Bedford , New Hampshire Parent- Teacher Group is excited to announce the return of the Color Blast Fun Run / Walk. For the third year, Derry Medical Center has committed to be the presenting sponsor of this fun – filled event that aims to support educational programs for the 4400+ students attending the six Bedford area public schools in grades K – 12. We are looking forward to the fun run continuing to be a community fundraising event where we encourage wellness, gathering our families together, getting colorful, and having fun. Last year’s event was a huge success , raising over $27,000 and bringing together over 950 runners of all ages.

Not a runner? That’s OK. Join us at the Bedford High School Campus on Sunday June 2, at 9:30 a.m. and be prepared to dance, twirl, skip , walk or stroll through color sttions along the 2 mile route. You adn teh entire family will be “blasted” with color. This year we are offering new registration discounts for returning runners, a reduced rate for a 4 – pack of entries and the children’s price now applies to kids 10 and under. Register by Friday, May 3 to take advantage of our reduced pricing and purhcase our Color Blast t-shirt and a drawstring “swag bag” , which includes sunglasses, bandanna, and your own color bag to throw at the start of the race.

Bedford PTG provides enriching educational opportunities and community events for the staff , students, and families in the Bedford School District; and helps to support the individual needs of our Bedford schools. Some of the educational programs we offer include Great Artist Series; where parents volunteer their time to teach our students about great artists, Opportunities Reaching Kids; our enrichment program that provides guest speakers and additional programs that enhance each grade’s curriculum throughout the school year, the Artist in Residence program; where our local artist come and create for our children to view and experience. We also support “Stand by Me” a day in which our seventh graders attend workshops at Southern NH University; the workshops are centered around peronsal development , bullying, college prep , leadership, drugs, and social media.
