Olivia Skare, center, was in Milford’s Jacques Memorial School on Monday to meet her first grade teacher, Mrs. Pelkey. With Olivia are her mother, Renee, and her sister, Alison, who is starting eighth grade at Milford Middle School. Schools in Milford opened for the year on Wednesday, while Amherst and Mont Vernon students go back after Labor Day and Wilton-Lyndeborough students return on Aug. 28.
