Milford woman in standoff identified

MILFORD – Police have identified the woman who was taken to the hospital March 13 after a nearly two-hour standoff on Merrimack Road.

The woman had called police to say she had a gun and was going to hurt herself.

Milford Police Chief Michael Viola said the woman is Pamela Page, of 19 Merrimack Road, and she is in her early-50s.

Police had been waiting to notify her family before releasing her name. The case is ongoing, he said, and as of Monday he was not sure if she was still in the hospital. No arrest has been made.

The initial call came in at 1:47 p.m. and Milford and Amherst police, state police and county sheriffs officers surrounded the house and convinced the woman to come out. No one was hurt in the standoff.

There was “good communication among all the participants and a lot of help,” Viola said. “They were able to get her out of the house and give herself up.”
