NASHUA – More than 50 women volunteers will unlatch the toolboxes and help build homes for local families in need during Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week, to be held on May 2-9.

The women will work on GNHFH’s Nashua projects at 45 Chestnut St. and 42 Nottingham Drive.

National Women Build Week, a nationwide Habitat for Humanity event, brings women together across the country to build Habitat homes and learn construction skills, advocate for affordable housing in local communities and fundraise to build more homes for local families in need.

While GNHFH has hosted Women Build Days in the past, this is the first year the organization will offer a week’s worth of volunteer opportunities, expanding the total number of volunteer spots to 50 and making a bigger dent in construction work.

“Women Build Week is a fantastic opportunity for women to work together, learn some of the basics of home building from scratch and make new friends who also care about a great effort to work with low-income families toward homeownership,” said Mary Jarril, GNHFH board vice president and core Habitat build crew member.

Registration is $25, with a suggested fundraising minimum of $225. Volunteer spots are limited. For more information or to register, visit nashuahabitat.
