WILTON – This year’s boys’ varsity basketball team won the Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative High School’s first state championship, playing in Division IV. The school wants to properly recognize that achievement with the presentation of what was described as “old-fashioned letter jackets.”

But team officials told the School Board on April 21, they were “shocked at what they cost” and are appealing for donations to help buy them.

It was also noted that all members of the team are honor students.

Donations may be sent to the school at 57 School Road, Wilton 03086.

The School Board officially recognized the team with a standing ovation and extended its congratulations.
