Man charged in Milford burglary

MILFORD – Police say a resident of Souhegan Street burglarized the home of one of his neighbors last week.

Wayne S. O’Brien, 21, of 11 Souhegan St., was charged with burglary, falsifying physical evidence, and breach of bail and then arraigned in 9th Circuit Court in Milford last week and held on $10,000 cash bail.

Police began investigating after receiving a call on April 28 from a resident of 71 Souhegan St. about a burglary in progress. The resident of the apartment had been contacted by a neighbor who, police said, saw an individual inside the apartment.

The apartment’s resident called police and told them no one should be inside. Police responded, but the suspect had left.

While searching the area, officers located some electronic devices that allegedly were stolen from the apartment and hidden in a wooden area along the Souhegan River. With the assistance of residents in the area, a suspect was quickly identified as O’Brien, police said.
