Ethics forum teams up with Hope for Gus
AMHERST – As the football season gets into full swing, the Souhegan High School Ethics Forum has planned a week of events to support the Hope for Gus Foundation.
On Friday, Sept. 25, Souhegan High School will host a football game at 7 p.m. to raise awareness and money for Duchene muscular dystrophy, and also to honor anyone who suffers from DMD.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, starting at 9 a.m., there will be a 5K run/walk and festival. Saturday events also include a 1-mile fun run, live music and many family-friendly activities.
There will be a closing ceremony to honor Gus, his family and anyone with DMD.
DMD is a form of muscular dystrophy that is caused by a genetic defect that usually affects boys. This local charity, Hope for Gus, funds research for treatments that will prolong the life of boys with DMD, or even a cure.
All proceeds from these events will go to the Hope for Gus foundation to further their research.
Anyone can come to these events. If you have any questions about the race or game, email ethicssouhegan@gmail. com.
