WLC School District names new superintendent
WILTON – Bryan Lane, of Derry, currently superintendent of schools in Hudson, has been named the new superintendent of School Administrative Unit 63, the Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative School District.
Lane previously served as principal of Alvirne High School. He holds a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and a certificate of advanced graduate studies in educational leadership from the University of New Hampshire. He served in Hudson for 18 years, 14 years as high school principal.
Also, he said in an interview at the WLC district meeting on March 4, he formerly taught ballroom dancing.
"I’m looking forward to working in a small school," he said – something he hasn’t done before – "where you can get to know all of the staff and students."
His new office will be in the Early Learning Center in Lyndeborough.
"I like nothing better than working with people, and there is the kindergarten" in the building," he said. "I can’t go wrong."
Lane noted this would be the last job of his career and added, "My goal is to stay here and bring the best education possible."
Lane will replace Dr. Christine Tyrie, who is retiring after three years in the district.
He will assume his new duties on July 1.
