Warning signs to be installed at Wilton reservoir
WILTON – Because of deteriorating conditions, the Board of Selectmen decided Monday, July 25, to install "Danger – Keep Off" signs along the dam at the Old Reservoir.
The area is public property and open to walkers along the brook.
"It’s a long drop if someone walking along the top fell off," Chairman Kermit Williams said.
Selectmen briefly discussed the signs at the New Reservoir, which were erected when it was the town water supply and left in place when it became a backup supply. Those signs also should be updated, selectmen said.
Residents of the area have asked many times that it be used for recreation.
Selectmen also voted to reactivate the Recycling Center Advisory Committee, a citizens group composed of a member from each of the five participating towns.
