Amherst, Milford voters to deliberate

All-day kindergarten, Keno gambling and an expanded firehouse are on the warrant in Milford. School staff contracts will be reviewed in Amherst and Mont Vernon. In all three towns, operating budgets will come under scrutiny.

That will happen during the deliberative sessions that start Saturday in Milford and Monday in Amherst, when warrant articles can be discussed and amended.

There are six sessions coming in Amherst, Mont Vernon and Milford, as the towns and school districts, with the exception of Mont Vernon town, continue the process of reviewing and voting on spending plans for next year, a process that ends on voting day, March 13.

Mont Vernon does not have a town deliberative session, because it doesn’t operate under the ballot voting rules of Senate Bill 2, and will have a traditional town meeting in March.
