Art exhibit set

Andres Institute of Art will host an exhibit of works by Contemporary Abstract artist using mixed media, Elizabeth LeBlanc. The event will coincide with Brookline’s Winter Festival weekend, Feb. 16-18.

Elizabeth is a New England-based artist. She studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and received her BFA from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. LeBlanc’s love of mixing and blending media began in her earliest years, and continues to be an integral part of her art making process. “Process and layering” is how she works through each piece, in a problem solving manner. LeBlanc draws inspiration from fine art, interior design, and nature. She is a textile consultant in interior design, by profession.

The opening reception will be from 6-8 on Feb. 16. The exhibit will continue on Feb. 17, from 1-6 p.m., with LeBlanc teaching a workshop from 2-4 p.m. She will demonstrate how to crate an abstract water color painting on paper, how to set a color scheme through layering. The exhibit concludes on Feb. 18, from 1-6 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public. The Center is handicap accessible.
