Artists show off works during annual event

WILTON – A weekend of open studios provided unique hand-created arts for everyone, from Shaker boxes at Frye’s Measure Mill and a friendly orange octopus at Silver Branch, to views of both Mount Monadnock and the Maine coast by artist Joan Tierney and jewelry by Sussy-Rose Shields and several other artisans.

Crafts included pottery, flower mandalas, wood carving, anything connected with beads, and fine art in many mediums. Antiques, candy, and flowers were also available.

The weekend was part of the statewide Open Doors program of the League of N.H. Craftsmen. Artists, and other venues in Wilton, were open with demonstrations, special sales and conversation. More than 30 local business people took part.
