Esports announced

AMHERST – The Amherst Recreation Department has announced its second season of Esports, one of the fastest growing competitions in the world, which allows players a safe way to compete with friends in the confines of your own home. The rec department is offering Rocket League (3 v 3, any device), Rocket League (1 v 1, any device), Madden 21 (1 v 1, Playstation or Xbox), Super Smash Brothers (1 v 1, Nintendo Switch), Fortnite (1 v 1, any device) and Fortnite (2 v 2, any device). Leagues will be run through GGLeagues online gaming and will consist of a six week season where players will play a game a week. At the end of the season, players will participate in a single elimination tournament to crown the champion. All games will be played within the NH Rec Esports League. All players will be registered through their own town recreation department. Each league winner will be crowned the NH Rec League Esports Champion. For ages 8+; the season starts April 12, 2021. The cost: $25R, $35R per league (can play in multiple leagues). Registration Deadline: March 23, 2021.
