Meals on Wheels honored

MERRIMACK – St. Joseph Community Services, the provider of Meals On Wheels in Hillsborough County, has achieved exemplary level Magnet Accreditation from the Meals On Wheels Association of America. St. Joseph Community Services is the first Meals On Wheels Program in New England to achieve any level of MOWAA Magnet Accreditation.

“(St. Joseph Community Services) demonstrates to families and caregivers, donors and funders that your program operates according to the highest standards for program safety, program quality and program efficiency,” President and CEO, Enid A. Borden said.

She said this honor joins a prestigious group of Senior Nutrition Programs across America dedicated to providing quality nutrition services at the highest levels of organizational accountability.

“To be the first Meals On Wheels organization in New England to receive this top recognition is an honor. This would not have been possible without the support of the community and the leadership and dedication from our management team and the staff at SJCS. I thank the entire organization, friends and volunteers for lending their support,” St. Joseph Community Services Board Chairman Kevin Halloran said.

Since its founding, St. Joseph Community Services has served more than 10.5 million meals to an elderly, disabled and often isolated population. It serves an average of 1,670 hot, nutritious meals a day throughout Hillsborough County.
