Singer family, New Horizons host dinner

MANCHESTER – Thanksgiving Day will be a bit brighter for people in need in Manchester and surrounding areas.

The Singer Family and Merchants Automotive are underwriting the cost of Thanksgiving dinner at New Horizons. The Singer Family is well-known for its long-standing support of charities in the area.

Last year New Horizons for New Hampshire served Thanksgiving dinner to 351 individuals and this year anticipates exceeding 400. Thanks to the Singer Family, clients of the New Horizons soup kitchen will be served a large traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings.

The dinner will be accompanied by live music, and served by many dedicated volunteers from 4:30-6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24.

“We are thrilled to support such a wonderful organization which helps so many in need at this time of year,” said Stephen Singer, owner of Merchants Automotive.

New Horizons Executive Director Charlie Sherman added, “I am honored to partner with the Singer Family during Thanksgiving this year. They are so wonderful to step up and help those less fortunate in our community.”

New Horizons for New Hampshire is a soup kitchen and food pantry, and provides emergency shelter at 199 Manchester St., and Angie’s Shelter for Women.
