Holiday concert on Dec. 10

Don your holiday apparel and join your family, friends and neighbors as Merrimack Concert Association celebrates the season at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, at its annual Holiday Concert at Merrimack High School. This community event features performances by the Merrimack Chorus and Concert Band.

Choral director Jamie Saucier and band director Lelia Dutton will lead the chorus and band in a collection of time-honored carols in addition to several less traditional selections. Kids of all ages will enjoy a diverse program which includes music from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “O Little Town of Hackensack,” and a choral rendition of a Zulu carol “Jabula Jesu” with percussion accompaniment. Carols sung in German, Latin and French as well as brass and saxophone ensembles add to the festive concert performance.

Concert admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Tickets are on sale in advance and at the door. A wide assortment of beverages and homemade cookies will be available. A drawing for a 50/50 raffle prize will take place during the concert.
