Rotary awarded for work with schools

The Rotary Club of Merrimack received a Gold Circle Achievement Award in recognition of its community partnership with local schools. The award was given by the New Hampshire Partners in Education at an awards dinner on Oct. 25.

According to the NHPIE Web site, the award is given to celebrate the “valuable partnerships that schools and volunteer programs have with local businesses.”

“The Rotary Club of Merrimack has been busy raising funds for the NH Scholars Program, Interact Club and the Science Olympiad,” said Pete Giacapuzzi, president of the Merrimack Rotary.

“All of the fundraisers we organize and operate each benefit the community’s school children. Rotary is honored to be recognized for our efforts with a Gold Circle Achievement Award,” he said.
