Adopt-a-Bill campaign to aid veterans’ utilities fees

MANCHESTER – Liberty House Inc. announces the launch of its third annual Adopt-a-Bill campaign. The program is being repeated again this year to help defray or pay utility and other operational household bills incurred by Liberty House: A transitional house for homeless American veterans and located in Manchester.

Last year’s campaign, with the help from donors, a benefit concert and a major defense contractor, raised more than $20,000. Examples of the varied uses of donations include gift cards/gas cards to transitioning-out vets or those achieving self-sufficiency. Though the house accepts most types of material donations, the need for financial strength and stability is most urgent and therefore most requested.

Liberty House donations are tax deductible. Make checks and/ or money orders payable to: Liberty House Inc., 75 W. Baker St., Manchester, NH 03103.

On the memo section of the check, donors may indicate “Adopt-a-Bill” and also designate the particular bill they wish to contribute to, for example: heat, telephone, electricity; food, gift cards, gas cards or general fund. The goal of the campaign is to raise $20,000 over the next 12 months.

Liberty House is a nonprofit transitional home for homeless, honorably discharged, American veterans.
