These slices are nice

We know you like pizza.

Last summer during a heat wave, many of you stayed late on the local beaches, called in orders on your cell phones, and had the pizza delivered to your blankets.

The change of seasons alters your venue, and possibly your choice of toppings, but it doesn’t reduce the number of trips you make to your favorite pizzeria.

Indeed, you’re still picking up a pizza, or two, on your way home from work or routinely loading your family into the SUV or mini bus for a weekend excursion to your favorite pizza place.

The pizza-makers say your favorites include the traditional tomato sauce and cheese, or pepperoni. And they also agree that many of you are big on barbecue chicken ranch pizza, steak bomb pizza, and Mediterranean pizza with eggplant, artichokes, black olives, tomato chunks, and cheese.

You can’t go wrong with a meat pizza that boasts nine toppings, including a few vegetables, or a vegetarian special with seven different veggies.

But we have a question for you: Which pizza place in Merrimack tops your list?

As part of a Cabinet Press contest, The Merrimack Journal is asking readers to vote for their favorite restaurant, considering only independents, no chains.

And your vote will count.

We’ve promised the contenders that the winner will be featured in a story in the The Merrimack Journal.

So pick up the phone, call in an order, and taste your way to a delicious decision. Once you’ve decided, you can e-mail your decision to Merrimack Journal editor Susan Clark at sclark@nashuatelegraph.com.

Mangia. Bon Appetit. Salut!
