Barbara McLaughlin passed away Monday, September 6, at Elliot Hospital following surgery with her family and loved ones surrounding her. She was predeceased in death by her husband Gordon L. McLaughlin in 2002 and grandson Jereme Brice Repolt in 2001.

Barbara was born January 12, 1925, the daughter of Chester and Mable Whitten of Milford. She attended Milford schools and in 1946 married Gordon L. McLaughlin. They had one daughter, Candace McLaughlin of Milford; a grandson, Jesse Repolt of Sanford, Maine; and a great-grandson, Michael Jereme Repolt of Waterboro, Maine.

Other family members include 3 brothers: Chester Whitten of Milford and Richard and Ronald Whitten of Lyndeboro.

Mrs. McLaughlin became of a member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1953 and had remained as such all her life. Barbara’s belief in the hope of a resurrection here on earth as promised in the Bible at Psalm 37:9 had been a strong comfort to her in these days of failing health.

Funeral services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Route 101, Wilton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010. Arrangements were handled by Michaud Funeral Home of Wilton.
