Sam G. Cresta

Sam G. Cresta, 84, of Wilton, New Hampshire. Died on Monday morning November 22, 2010, at the Crestwood Nursing Home in Milford, New Hampshire. Sam was born February 11, 1926 in Montilla, Avellino, Italy.

At the age of thirteen Sam accompanied seven siblings and his parents Nicolas and Filomena Cresta to the United States. The whole family immigrated to America with great anticipation for a brighter future for them all.

With only six years of formal education Sam prospered and made a career in the building industry. He was respected for his wisdom and loved for his perpetual smile. Sam chaired the Nashua High School Vocational Building Program and served on the Statue of Liberty Restoration Projection.

Sam resided many years in the New England area and a few years in California. But, wherever Sam lived, his recreation included his passion for nature and gardening. Sam raised honey bees to pollinate his organic garden. He founded the Merrimack Valley Beekeepers Association that continues on this day. He was a self taught winemaker who won many awards for his honey wines.

Sam was preceded in death by his faithful wife Virginia who passed away in 1996.

He will be greatly missed by his constant companion Rita Willard, six children and eight grandchildren.
