Barbara Boisvert, 85, died May 28, 2011, at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH.

Barbara was born in Wilmington, MA on September 25, 1925. She was the daughter of Charles and Arabel (Closson) Blaisdell. She attended the local schools and was a graduate of Wilmington High.

Barbara married her husband Laurent Maurice Boisvert in 1944. They spent 44 years together until his death in 1988.

Barbara spent over 54 years in Lyndeborough, NH. She was a member of the United Church of Lyndeborough and she taught Sunday school.

She was a former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Pinnacle Grange, The Rebeccas, Daughters of the American Revolution and Odd Fellows. Her devotion to her community was very strong. She worked to register the Lyndeborough Center Church, Town Hall and Dog Pound to get them listed on the National Historic Register. She was also a great fund raiser for the town and school, former Trustee of the Trust Fund and Notary Public.

Barbara was also a professional cake decorator and cook, operating a catering business out of her home for many years through which she won many awards. She also raised blueberries and loved spending time picking in her blueberry patch.

Barbara enjoyed sports in her quiet time; she loved the Red Sox and enjoyed the Patriots.Her talents were many, she loved to sing and make crafts. She wrote and published 2 books: Glass Blowing for Little Folks – a children’s book and In Search of the Perfect Pumpkin – a recipe book.

Barbara is survived by one daughter Caren and her husband Michael Grady of Amherst, NH and one son Laurent and his wife Sharon Boisvert of Lyndeborough, NH and one brother Elliott Blaisdell of MA.

Barbara was blessed with 2 grandchildren Caryn-Ann and Michael III and one great-grandchild Olivia.

Barbara adored her family and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

A service will be held in the Johnson Corner Cemetery on Sunday June 5, 2011 at 1:00pm
