Lorraine T. Klekotka

MILFORD, NH – Lorraine T. Klekotka, 82, resident of Milford, NH, died peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH from end stage renal failure on June 12, 2011.

She was born in Northampton, MA on March 23, 1929, a daughter of James and Stella (Plaza) Szynal.

Lorraine was raised and educated in Northampton, MA, graduating from Northampton High School, Class of 1947 and Westfield State College.

She was a kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart School in Easthampton, MA for 11 years, known as “Mrs. Lorraine” to her many students.

After leaving teaching she was the director of the RSVP program in Northampton, MA and grew it to a 400-person volunteer program. After moving to New Hampshire in 1986, she worked for her daughter Jo-Ellen and son-in-law Dana in accounts receivables for Pratta Electronic Materials Corporation, Londonderry, NH.

Lorraine enjoyed traveling, volunteering at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She was a member and past president of Quota International and a member of the “Red Hat Ladies”.

Mrs. Klekotka was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Klekotka, who died in 1997, her mother Stella (Plaza) Szynal, father James Szynal, and a sister, Dolores Pinciak.

Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jo-Ellen and Dana Redmond of Amherst, NH, Lyndell and Michael Kalman of Nantucket, MA; six grandchildren and their spouses, Nicholas and Jeanne Kalman, Sean Kalman, Shannyn Kalman, Matthew and Tegan Redmond, Patrick Redmond and Ryan Redmond; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Thelma Szynal of Northampton, MA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Estelle and John Doherty of South Hadley, MA, Marlene Werenski of Easthampton, MA, Janet and Marty Kellogg of Deerfield, MA; a brother-in-law, Alfred Pinciak of Chicopee, MA; many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 15th from 9:00-11:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

Burial will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Amherst, NH, at a later date.
