Peter Augustus Clegg

Peter A. Clegg, 58, of Temple, NH passed on Friday September 23, 2011 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, NH in the arms of his family.

Peter was born November 4, 1952 in Nashua, NH to Charles and Ruth (Cause) Clegg. He had lived in the Temple area since 1974. He was raised in Milford before moving to Temple in 1974 with his wife of 38 years, Christine.

Hunting, fishing and camping in Maine were his favorite things to do. He taught hunter safety courses for many years and also enjoyed cooking for the wild game suppers. He was a policeman and animal control officer for Temple and was very proud to serve. For the last 15 years he worked as a machinist at New Hampshire Ball Bearing. He was also a Freemason. Peter was a loyal and much loved friend. His humor and smile will endure.

He has three beautiful children, Tina Clegg and her partner Tom Hopkins of Dublin, Frederick Clegg II of Temple and Amanda Ray Danko and her husband John Paul of Asheville, North Carolina; two brothers, Thomas Clegg of Dundas, Virginia and Charles Clegg and his wife Gail of Cairo, Egypt; a brother-in-law, Ed George of Moro Plantation, Maine. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren, Riley Emma Codman, Edgar August Danko and Paul Herchell Danko. He was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte and brother Frederick Clegg.

A remembrance service for Peter will be Thursday September 29, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. The Masonic Lodge will conduct their service starting at 8:00 pm.
