Steven Sawyer

Dublin, NH – Steve Sawyer, 58, died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital, Lebanon, NH on October 6, 2011. He was a resident of Peterborough, before moving to Dublin. He was born November 3, 1952, the son of Ernest and Barbara (Young) Sawyer and raised by George and Agnes Magoon of Greenfield, his foster parents.

Steve worked as an iron worker for more than 40 years and was most recently employed by Butler Employment agency. He enjoyed people of all ages and giving of himself, as he did in volunteering at SNHS Prescott Hill Children’s program and at Summerhill Assisted Living. He was an active member and trustee of the Dublin Community Church, often helping with current projects and special events. Steve enjoyed fishing and hiking and was an avid collector of antique bottles, books and paintings among many other things. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren more than anything else.

Steve is survived by his fiancée, Perry Anable and daughter, Anita, of Dublin; two daughters: Cassandra Blomgren of West Chesterfield and Jessica Taylor of Wilton; a sister, Lisa Shibley of Manchester and a brother, John Stalbird of New Ipswich. He is survived by four grandchildren with a fifth due in January, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 11:00 am at Dublin Community Church with Reverend Michael Scott officiating. A reception will follow immediately at The Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made out to – and mailed to – Steve Sawyer, 98 Farr Rd., West Chesterfield, NH 03466. A specific charity will be chosen with care shortly.
