William C. Mason Sr.

MILFORD, NH – William C. “Bill” Mason, Sr., died December 7, 2011, three days before his 72nd birthday, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous five year battle with cancer.

He was born in Goffstown, NH on December 10, 1939, a son of Edwin Emery and Jennie Marie (Greenough) Mason.

Bill lived in Mont Vernon and Milford for most of his life and graduated from Milford High School in 1960.

He worked for many years in the architectural door and hardware industry for Craftsmen Inc., J.M. Power Associates and Mason Metal Doors in Milford. Later, Bill was a successful self-employed antique furniture dealer. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, completing puzzles, drawing, woodworking and making original handmade toys, games and unique gifts for his family.

Bill was predeceased by his brother, James R. Mason of Mont Vernon and Fredric R. Mason of Milford and a sister, Joanne E. Lauziere of Fairfield, CA.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Leslie (Stearns) Mason of Milford; a son, William C. Mason, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Raymond, NH; a daughter, Lori J. Card and her husband, Michael of Milford; a son, Thomas E. Mason, Sr. and his wife, Shannon of Milford; Bill was the proud “Papa” to nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Aquizap and her husband, Nicholas, Stephen Card and his wife, Tawni, David Card, Morgan, Riley, Thomas, Brady, Lily and Olivia Mason; two great-granddaughters, Addison and Harlie Card; two brothers, Robert E. Mason of Manchester, NH, Dana R. Mason and his wife, Helen of Greenville; two sisters, Cynthia L. Hobbs and her husband, Robert of Clearwater, FL, Mary L. Holt and her husband, Mark of Wilton; a brother-in-law, Charles B. Lauziere of CA; a sister-in-law, Jane E. Mason of FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

Memorial visiting hours are Wednesday, December 14th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Milford United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon, in the spring.
