Eddie J. Lamminen Jr.

Eddie J. Lamminen, Jr., 76, resident of The Villages, FL, died on May 27, 2017 at Lane Purcell Hospice, Sumterville, FL.

He was born in Wilton, NH on February 18, 1941, a son of Eddie J. Lamminen, Sr. and Evelyn (Morley) Lamminen.

He was raised and educated in Wilton and was so proud to have been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Wilton High School, Class of 1959 and attended Lowell Tech.

Eddie had been employed as a dispatcher for several oil companies and retired from Irving Oil in 2006.

He was active in his community having served as a Selectman for two terms, was a member of the Budget Committee and the School Board.

Eddie enjoyed spending summers at the beach in Wells, Maine, photography, fly tying, archery and in his later years, he liked to play golf. In addition, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was past president of the N.H. Wild Turkey Federation. He was a true New England sports fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Sandra Trow and Lin Robinson; and a brother, Wayne Lamminen.

Family members include his wife of 54 years, Martha “Marty” (Proctor) Lamminen of The Villages, FL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Mark Christian of Nashua, NH, Jody and Todd Ciardelli of Milford, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Beth Lamminen of Mason, NH; five grandchildren, Chelsey Aloise, Geena Ciardelli, Alli Ciardelli, Eric Christian and Robert Christian; several great grandchildren; a sister, Ingrid Howard of Wilton, NH; many nieces and nephews.
