Bruce E. Fraser

Bruce Emery Fraser, beloved husband to Sandra Jean Fraser, passed away peacefully at their home in Amherst, NH on April 16, 2018. Son of Lena Whittaker Fraser and Leslie Fraser, Bruce was born on September 8, 1935 in Keene NH. He was a proud graduate of Keene High School and Norwich University Class of 1957.

Bruce served two years active duty in Fort Belvoir, VA and Fort Bragg NC respectively with the 64th Engineer Equipment Maintenance Company 18th Airborne Corps. He then went on to serve four years in active reserves with an Engineer Construction Battalion based at the Boston Army Base.

Mr. Fraser had a successful and storied professional career in engineering and sales in the stud welding industry. Holding positions with Factory Mutual Insurance Company’s Engineering Labs, Norwood MA, the TRW Nelson Stud Welding Division and co-founding Fraser and Malloy Associates Inc., Charlestown MA which specialized in stud welding sales and services, were just some of his greatest accomplishments.

An active member of his community, Bruce was a deacon, trustee and longtime member of the Amherst Congregational Church, participated in the Amherst Lions Club and the Amherst Historic Society, and served as board member for the Nashua Center. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, golfing, long walks around Amherst Village, vacationing in Wells, Maine, attending local theatre productions and spending time with family and friends. He was a loyal New England sports fan, a Clemson Football fan and a fierce competitor at Cribbage.

He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 61 years, Sandra (Bemis) Fraser, a son Brooks Fraser of Amherst, NH, daughters Cathy McKay and husband John of Amherst NH, Andrea Feddersen and husband John of Holliston MA, Carrie Ozzella and husband Tom of E. Orleans MA, Alyce Elizabeth Fraser of Merrimack NH and a brother Keith Fraser and wife Prudence of Swanzey NH. In addition, he’s survived by his grandchildren, John Christopher and wife Courtney Mckay; Kelsey and husband Rourke Day; Matthew, Morgan, Lillian and Braedon Feddersen; Caitlin Brougham; Lauren, Michael and Matthew Ozzella; great grandchildren Jackson and Kinsley Day, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A Memorial Service is being held at the Amherst Congregational Church, 11 Church Street, Amherst NH at 11 am April 27th.
