Judith A. Briske

MONT VERNON – Judith A. Briske, 85, resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died on April 23, 2018 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH.

She was born in Bronx, New York on November 7, 1932, a daughter of Edward F. and Willna (Taylor) Power. She made her home in Mont Vernon for more than 35 years and formerly lived in Brentwood, New York.

Mrs. Briske had been employed in the retail and fashion business having worked at Macy’s, Bay Shore New York and Berkshire Fur, Merrimack, NH.

She was a member of the DAR. Her passion was art and portraits was the genre she perfected. She was a member of The Copley Society, Boston, MA, New Hampshire Artists Association, Portsmouth, NH, Sharon Arts Center, Peterborough, NH, Keys Art Group, Milford and Portrait Society of America. She also served on the Zoning Board for the Town of Mont Vernon and was a very active member of her Community.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edward T. Briske, who died in 2015.

Family members include two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane and Michael Aronsen of Bayport, NY, and Sheila Cushing of Fort Myers, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Jess and Sheryl Briske of Fayette, ME; four grandchildren, Stephen and Eric Aronsen, Joanna Quigley and Corbin Briske; two great grandchildren, Adeline Aronsen and Bryn Quigley.

Calling hours are on Sunday, April 29th from 1:00-3:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will follow in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
