Norman E. Black

Norman E. Black, 77, longtime resident of Lyndeborough, NH, died on June 14, 2018 following a short illness at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH.

He was born in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania on May 14, 1941, the son of Norman and Naomi L. (Gilbert) Black and was raised and educated in Pennsylvania. He graduated from North Dakota School of Forestry and also received a degree in forestry from Louisiana Tech University.

Norman had been employed for the US Army as a supervisor of Land Management at Fort Devens in Ayer, MA having retired in 1995.

He enjoyed genealogy, reading, cooking, was an avid gardener and a local Boy Scout Leader. Norman was a kind and generous man and always willing to lend a hand when needed.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Roger Black.

Family members include his wife, Ruth (Cutter) Black of Greenfield, NH; two sons and daughters-in law, Norman and Reighn Black of South Korea, Dustin and Norine Black of Springfield, VT; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Winston Kittredge of Milford, NH; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four step children, Nancy Waters of Hinsdale, NH, Martha Palmer of Peterborough, NH, Michael Moynihan of Lyndeborough, NH and Stephen Moynihan of Peterborough, NH; nine step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Patricia Black of Brodheadsville, PA, Ivor and Heidi Black of Bangor, PA, Michael and Susan Black of Flicksville, PA, and Dean and Linda Black of Allentown, PA; a sister-in-law, Alberta Black of Phillipsburg, NJ; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial visiting hours are on Saturday, June 23rd from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A memorial service will follow at 12:00pm in the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
