Richard A. Stickney

Richard Allen Stickney, 70, of Unity, NH passed away on July 13, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Nashua, NH on October 5, 1947 the son of Everett Duncan and Virgie Lillian (Williams) Stickney.

Richard was a graduate of Milford High School.

He was in the US Navy and was on the WASP and on the CV18 aircraft carrier.

He had been a member of the American Legion Post 29 in Claremont, a Treasurer for the Horseshoe Player League at Veterans Park and a Treasurer for the Realty Board for many years.

Richard enjoyed playing horseshoes, golf and woodworking. He had built horse barns and made furniture out of old wood.

He is survived by his wife, Jane S. (Davis) Stickney of Unity, son, Trevor Stickney and his wife, Rebecca (Napsy) of Claremont; grandchildren, Autumn Hannah Stickney and Sean Arthur Stickney; brother, Arthur D. Stickney and his wife, Diane of Gilford; sisters, Betty Ann Sipple and her husband, Henry of Acworth and Carolyn Bond of New London also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Debra Marie Stickney.

Richard’s last request is no black attire, colorful clothing, and happy people.

Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Thursday, July 19th from 5 to 7 PM. A memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home at 7 Pm with Heidi Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery in Milford, NH on Friday morning at 11 AM.
