Janice R. Beaulieu

Janice (Richards) Beaulieu died at her home in Newport News, VA on March 13, 2019 after a period of declining health. Janice, who was affectionately nicknamed “Ginger” was born December 26, 1933 in Nashua, NH, the only child of Arland and Dorothy (Townsend) Richards. She was predeceased by her parents.

Janice attended Nashua High School and graduated in 1951. She was soon married and moved to Connecticut and then later to Massachusetts. Janice was a strong and hard working woman and as a divorcee and young mother, she moved back to New Hampshire, raising her children on her own and continued working until her retirement at age 70.

Janice especially loved spending time at the ocean – going deep sea fishing, and visiting the coast of Maine with friends. She came to enjoy sports in her later years and became a Red Sox baseball fan. She also became a football fan, taking pride as a New Englander in “her Patriots” while she was living far from home in Virginia.

Her family will remember her as a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a big heart, fun personality and for her generosity.

Janice is survived by her children, David Beaulieu and his wife Cheryl of Milford, NH; Darcy Atkinson and her husband Bill of Newport News, VA; her grandchildren, Derek Beaulieu of Milford, NH; Dana Beaulieu and his wife Jessica of Manchester, NH; Adam Smith and his wife Kelli of Nashua, NH and Andrea Smith and her husband David of Merrimack, NH. Janice had also been blessed in life with great-grandchildren whom she cherished and who gave her joy in her later years. She had also remained very close to, and leaves behind her sister-in-law Rita DePontbriand and brother-in-law Albert Beaulieu. “Aunt Ginger” was loved and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two close friends; Carol Pagan and Noreen Bois, whose friendship over the many years meant so much to her.

Memorial Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made in Janice’s name to Wounded Warriors Family Support, 1128 John Galt Boulevard, Suite 103, Omaha, NE 68137 or to SHARE Outreach Inc., 1 Columbus Ave, Milford, NH 03055.
