Julie Davidson

Julie Moyal Davidson, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2011, her 85th birthday.

Julie will be remembered for her sparkling eyes, sense of humor, love of education, devotion to her family and enduring spirit of love.

Julie was a loving wife to David Davidson, predeceased, and is survived by her son Dennis Davidson of Amityville, N.Y., her daughter Michelle Baer of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA and her daughter Jo Davidson of Hollis, NH. Julie was also very proud of her nine grandchildren and recently became a great-grandmother.

Julie met her late husband David during World War II while he was serving in the Army Air Corps in Morocco. They were married on October 24th, 1945 in Casablanca. Before traveling to America to be with her new husband, Julie was honored by receiving the Civilian Servant Corps Award.

Julie spent her life as an educator and received her Masters in French Literature from the University of Connecticut when she was 65 years of age. She taught French, privately, in the public school and at the college level, but most dear to her heart were the 28 years as a French teacher and Chair of the Foreign Language Department at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

When not teaching or caring for grandchildren, Julie enjoyed gardening, knitting, and reading and was also a talented watercolor artist. Julie touched many lives during her teaching career both in and outside her classroom. She always gave willingly to others and was always ready to give a helping hand. She will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 21st for family and friends at the Nashua Presbyterian Church, 1010 West Hollis St., Nashua, NH with a reception to follow.
